Blogging is hard!

It has been a couple of days since I launched DayMindXPression blog/website, and I am suddenly realizing how hard it is to continuously blog on a day-to-day basis. This thought is a little dangerous for this website, because it threatens stagnation and possibly early termination without becoming too mature in content. I had to think through why I was blogging and ask the question how to become motivated with this daily writing. I do not think I am the only person on the web struggling on this sticky limbo situation, where bloggers' motivations are down to the drain after high enthusiasm in the beginning stages. After thinking of this problem for two days I share my thoughts on this prevalent issue.

I realized that many successful blogs have a long record of consistent rate of posting new contents. This trend should not be surprising, because the blogs with large amounts of readers will have high demand for new contents with a particular style.

Then the solution is easy! To make a successful blog one needs to break the stagnation of not posting anything and continuously post something for the reader to enjoy on a day-to-day basis. Think how the newspapers work. They have a large reading base, because information on these papers is up-to-date. The problem of applying this solution to my possible stagnant situation, however, is that I do not have the capability of generating mass amounts of contents all from my little head!

Newspapers have thousands of reporters and journalists to contribute toward its day-to-day pool of information. Bloggers and writers like me only have our creative minds to generate our blog posts. I think this is the main reason why blogging is hard, because a lot of people run out of ideas for what to post on their blogs. One could get content ideas from other blogs and websites, and it generally provides a fresh mindset for writing, but depending too much on other sources for new ideas generally run into the problem of becoming unoriginal.

Then what is the ultimate solution to this stagnation problem? Unfortunately that depends on the person. My method is to take notes on my day-to-day thinking and experiences and review them when I am composing a new entry. I try to blog at a specific time of the day, so that I won't put off the habit indefinitely. I listen to some music (non-vocal) as I write and remind myself how "fun" writing is. These are my little solutions, but I am still struggling in not becoming stagnant with my blogging habit.

If you have nothing to write, then do something else and comeback again in an hour or so. I am going to drink some White Tea now and take a break!

I do a lot of reading for school and for personal enjoyment. In the coming weeks, I will feature some of the books that I am currently reading as I concentrate on writing less "Internet-related" topics.
